Sorry...

I am getting really good at being a bad blogger. I have been busy. We have been to the lake, we are building a screen porch. I have read a book, The Last Song. And I have been reading all of your blogs in my spare time. I had rather read all of your blogs than post on mine. That is just so bad, isn't it?

It is Groundhog Day! Groundhog Day is just the craziest thing ever!!! It is about 6 weeks til' we start having warm weather anyway. So what is the point? Shadow or no shadow it will not be spring until..it is spring! I just don't get it! Free the critters!

We got NO SNOW! But what is new, we do live in Georgia. We may get some more snow before the end of winter but it would not break my heart if we didn't. I am ready for warm weather and sunshine! It is cloudy here today and so gloomy. I have been tired all day. Sunshine = Energy!

So Happy Groundhog Day! (insert rolling eyes) And I am off to see what I find to cook for these people who live here and think they must eat. I wish I could be one of them..you know,wait til someone says "food is ready" and just go and eat.

See, you really didn't want me to post, I am just grumpy today and now all of you had to read it.

I'm Back

Well, I didn't really go anywhere, just a blogging break. Happy Birthday Tiffany! My girl is 13 today! A TEENAGER! She already wants a red convertible, what girl doesn't. She is very quite and shy. Until you get to know her. She is a sweet girl. She will be the one that will take care of me when I am really old. The other kids would just lock me away somewhere! (laughing but kinda serious too!). We are out of school today for her birthday so I had some spare time.

I have been cleaning out my house, I have to much "junk", It feels good to let it go! I am kind of a pack rat. I have quit saving the clothes the kids out grow. That was a big problem but that one is gone. If they can't wear it it is out of here! I love it when my house is decluttered!

I think I maybe, hopefully getting a new laptop today. Hopefully maybe! Mine is old and I can't stand to wait on it anymore. I am just not sure about Windows 7, I am finally able to control vista.

Not much been going on around here. Now I am off to catch up with the blogs I have so neglected..sorry, I am on my way!

Ocean Sick

We are so Ocean sick...like home sick. We are ready to get back to "our island" that is what if feels like anyway. In April the movie "The Last Song" is due to be released. I really hope tons of people do not flock to Tybee. I have been there..It is not that wonderful..(wink,wink). Okay, if they have to go they could at least consult with us when they can come ;-) Like on a week we aren't there. After all this cold weather, I sure could use a evening walk on the beach followed by a blue snowcone. ahhh..can't wait for spring!

I can't get my pics in order so they are all mixed up.It has been really cold here. We only been above 32*F 1 day since Jan 1 2010. I am ready for a warm up! This is the fountain in town , in front of the Police Station. Totally froze over!The snow is beginning, yeah!

NEVER let a poodle out in the snow! She went wild, it was like trying to catch a greased pig, a tiny one! We were running everywhere trying to catch her. She loved the snow also! She did have to get a bath when she was finally caught, she had an inch of snow stuck to her belly!

Tif in the snowThis is what we call Snow Shoes in the South! My little Piggy's got cold! I rushed out the door to take a few pics. and flip flops were the first shoes I found. I wasn't sure how long the snow would be here. But we still have some on the ground today. I live in a very shady place beside a hill. The sun goes down at about 2:00 here, well behind the hill anyway. That is great in the summer and bad in the winter! Well that is my "major" snow storm, bring on spring!

Birthday & more

Hey! Well the snow is almost gone. And I am glad, yes, you read that right. I have been trapped in this house for a day and I am going insane. Just kidding, but it was really good to get out of the house tonight. My son Ezra has a Birthday tomorrow Happy Birthday to my Boy! We took him out for pizza and had a really good family night out. Any night I don't have to cook is a good night for me. I really don't like to cook but I have to cook alot.

The roads here got icy really quick and well, in the south, we can't drive that well in it. On the first icy night hubby watched the football game til' about midnight and came up to bed. As soon as he got upstairs his phone went off and he was called to work. On the icy/snowy road! Someone wrecked and hit a gas regulator station, so he was called out and the truck (no one in it) was sitting on top of the station thing with gas blowing in the air on fire. They said the fire was coming from under the truck and shooting way up in the air. The bad news is he had to work all night and part of the next day. But... at least they had a fire to keep them warm ;-) It was really cold here. Silly people out in the middle of the night on icy roads in the south! Now tomorrow he is going to fix a busted water pipe for a man in his 80's. He has had a busy weekend.

I should have got more done in the housework area, but, I haven't. I need one of those signs that says.."Please excuse our mess....we LIVE here". I have managed to get some laundry and dishes done, so I guess it will have to do. I missed alot of sleep the night hubby was gone. I am not use to being here by myself and I heard noises all night long! That is funny because he gets up at night to put wood in the heater and I never know he is gone. I usually sleep very sound. And that is where I need to go now. Hope all is well in the Land of Bloggers, Goodnight.

Snowing Post part 2

Okay we had the burst and it gave us some more snow. YES!!! The kids are out making a snowman with their dad :-). I took them on a ride in the gocart and it is icy under the snow. Sliding and spinning is so much fun. It has seat belts and lights, even a speed odometer so we were safe. I guess as safe as you can be with me at the wheel. My scanner is going crazy with wrecks from this snow and ice. We did end up with about an inch i guess. I haven't measured it really doesn't matter when you live in the south. Any groundcovering snow is a good snow. At first I wanted the kids not to mess-up the pretty yard but then I thought how often do we get snow? not very! so we let loose. We played and ate SNOW CREAM!! Sooooo Goooood! Now they are out playing again. Bitter cold coming tomorrow so it's play now or freeze to death tomorrow. I am going to try to find the time to get some pics up. We just can't stay in long enough to do anything! So happy with the snow!

Snowing

1:22 pm---Snowing pretty good here. Flakes are getting bigger. It is so pretty. I am stuck at 33* uuggghh. So not much sticking. I did wash the car trunk and window so my snow will be clean..IF we get enough to make snow cream. Now that would be soooo goood. Haven't had that in years. Getting a few white patches on the dirt spots. Hope the temps drop before the snow does. It will be mess travel tonight. I am staying in and snow wishing.. Good luck to all in the southeast, I hope someone gets some snow (me, me ,me..please).

I have discovered that if you want to catch the snow on a camera you have to use flash.

3:38pm-- Well, it was pretty. It is still snowing, lightly. The driveway and everything else dirt is now white but it is hardly a dusting :-(. I am thinking this is about all I am getting so I am going to make a Chocolate Delight and eat it all. lol That is better than snow..not really but it will have to do. I do have to go and figure out what I am going to cook for supper. Beings that I am snowed in and all. I would go and find snow but the temps and wind here tomorrow are supposed to be very bad so I think I will hang by my heater with my people. Maybe next time.

8:33-- We got a really good snow burt and we now have about an inch!!!I am a happy girl! We have been riding the gocart/buggy thing tonight. We had fun. It will be to cold to play in it tomorrow. But i will post pics!

SNOW!

Okay, not yet but I was preparing for tomorrow. I so want snow but the weather people keep giving an few inches and taking it back. One day I am getting 2-4" the next 1". Now don't get me wrong, I would be very happy to get 1 inch. It is the south people, we take snow as we get it. I called 3 people the other day to tell them it was flurrying. So an inch is okay could be better (more). I do need the yard mowed really low, like shaved and leftover leaves blow today. That way it looks like more snow than there actually is..see I am not crazy. Okay maybe I am, but I am not doing lawn work in the winter for nothing. We are talking snow here. Now I must go and get milk and bread today. It is what we do here when the S word is said. I am always out of those 2 things anyway. Besides I have to make snow cream, even if I have to set out 20 bowls to catch enough snow.

Snow Tip #1..Put your bowls in the freezer a day in advance and you catch more snow due to the snow not melting when it hits the bowl.

Snow tip #2- Use the plastic gloves like Dr's use and it keeps you hands dry inside you gloves.
note..small trash bags can be wore over the shoes and it keeps the feet dry.

Sorry that is all I have..it does snow much here so I have limited experience ;-)
