Facebook Friends ????

I think Facebook is trying to change our definition of friend. A friend is someone you can depend on, that will be there if you need them, that cares what happens to you. Not just any Jack or Jill that sends you a "friend" request. Not someone who just wants to increase their friend count..that must some how make up for something that is maybe lacking..I don't know. I guess I am just a private/social person. I have blogs that I read and some of those people are on my "friends" list but I have mostly come to the conclusion that those are really real people and are who they say they are..hopefully. If someone is on my friends list, I know them, their parents, or have came to trust them. Am I the only one like this? I know some play games and need "friends" to help advance them but other than that do you set "rules" for yourself on the internet? I have very few males on my friends list also EVEN IF I KNOW THEM, I don't usually add them unless they are a kid of a friend or a family member. Just out of respect for my husband, I would not sit around "talking" with men when I would not want him sitting around talking to a bunch of women. I try to treat others the way I would want to be treated. Not that I always succeed on that goal.lol yes, I am strange I guess but hey, that makes me ...ME!

I'm with 'ya, Becky! I don't like to add just anyone, either. I'm glad you've added me/us .... we're about as real as they come (well....most days that is ;) )

I agree completely. My friends are all people I have a personal relationship with or are family living far away...AND I just blogged about people wanting you to be friends with their pets...ugh

Great post!

I don't just add anyone either but I'm hanging mostly at my Mom's and mine account now though.
